Sport1 held an allegedly non-rigged poll on their website allowing visitors to vote on the best mascot in the Bundesliga. I'm sure that you're sitting there and thinking, "Of course, Berni won this contest in a landslide. Who else in the Bundesliga would you even vote for?"
What? Who in the world thought that VfB Stuttgart's Fritzle was the best mascot in the league?
Okay, so if Berni didn't win, he obviously finished in second. Right?
What the? Who voted Borussia Dortmund's dumb bee into second place?
I'm calm. Honest. So, Berni somehow slipped to third place.
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
How in the world did the legendary, ferocious-yet-cuddly bear Berni finish behind Eintracht Frankfurt's Atilla the eagle? Yeah, he's a super cool eagle, but Berni is Berni.
According to Sport1, Fritzle won with 11,800 votes. Berni finished all the way down in fifth place with a meager 5,800 votes. The only explanation for this travesty is that the system was rigged, and Berni was robbed. FIFTH PLACE.
I demand justice for Berni.
