Holger Badstuber partook in team training on Thursday, the first time he has practiced with teammates since his thigh injury in April. His participation was limited, returning to the performance center to complete the rest of his training, according to the Bayern Munich website.
"We are very excited he is back," said David Alaba.
Badstuber missed 35 matches last year with two separate thigh injuries, not the ideal season to have after missing nearly two years with knee issues. He recommenced an outdoor training program a month ago, but he still spent a good amount of time in the performance center for rehabilitation.
Juan Bernat also resumed training after missing the last two weeks with a groin issue. He and Jan Kirchhoff have been training with the team all week, and both could travel to Bremen this weekend. Franck Ribéry meanwhile is struggling with an illness, halting his progression from his ankle injury.
