There's more bad news on the injury from for Bayern Munich. This time, it involves a Frauen player. Germany international Lena Lotzen had a second operation on her knee and will be out for several more weeks.
On August 5, Lotzen had surgery to repair a meniscus injury suffered in pre-season play. At the time, she was being ruled out for "several weeks", and October 14 will have been ten weeks. Bayern didn't give a time table for her return this time, but one must assume that she will not be returning to the field until after the new year.
"Of course it isn't not easy for me, but I'm positive looking into my future. My goal is to be back completely and ready for the second half of the season."
This is the third operation on this knee for Lotzen in the last 15 months. The 22 year old will be targeting a return to aide FC Bayern in their quest for the triple. She'll also have her eyes set on representing Germany next summer in the Rio 2016 Olympics.
