In a week where injuries have negatively impacted Bayern Munich, Jan Kirchhoff provided the club with some positive news. The 25-year-old has resumed full team activities on Monday after missing half the year with an ankle issue.

Kirchhoff suffered an ankle injury in his first week on loan at FC Schalke 04 in 2014, and it was the same ankle that took him out of action in February. Kirchhoff has spent the majority of his return from loan recovering and trying to regain full fitness.

Kirchhoff is in the final year of a three-year contract he signed in 2013 following a six-year stint at 1. FSV Mainz 05. He did not get much time in his first spell with the Rekordmeister, amassing just 144 minutes in 11 appearances in the 2013 Hinrunde before he departed the club on an 18-month loan to Schalke.

Juan Bernat also advanced in his progression from a groin injury, training with the ball at his feet. Franck Ribéry and Medhi Benatia did some light running on Monday as well, while Arjen Robben took a break from field training to join Holger Badstuber in Bayern's performance center.

Bayern also announced Sebastian Rode, who has missed two weeks with a hamstring injury, is still restricted in his training. Reports over the weekend speculated he would not be ready for Bayern's match against SV Werder Bremen on Saturday.
