The accountants have had their look at the books and they say that Bayern Munich are one of the highest revenue generating clubs in the world. Not that that should be a surprise to anyone.

With a revenue stream for the 2013/2014 season accounting to a total of €487.5M, Bayern Munich rank third in the global ratings, sitting just below Real Madrid( €549.5M) and Manchester United (€518.0M) on the totem pole. In the same rankings last year --Deloitte's pretentiously named  Football Money League -- Bayern Munich were also ranked third in the global game with a revenue noted at €431.2M. The €50M increase is likely tied in partial part to the substantial increase German clubs received this year in domestic TV revenue, while more broadly it should be noted that the TV rights payouts for Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League have been steadily increasing over the past several years.

However, the more impressive jump is the one sustained in comparison to the 2011/2012 rating when Bayern Munich pulled in a relatively low €368.4M in revenue. The two year jump to their current total is a 33% increase and a serious statement of their commitment to cementing their place as one of the biggest clubs in the world.
