Bild released their list of the 100 best players to ever play in the Bundesliga, and as one might expect, the list is very heavy with Bayern Munich players. How many, you ask? Bild says that 42 of the top 100 players in the history of the Bundesliga played for Bayern during their career.
The list was put together by an impressive group of coaches: Ottmar Hitzfeld, Otto Rehhagel, Armin Veh, Markus Weinzierl, Raimund Hinko, and Rudi Gutendorf.
Who is the best player in the history of the Bundesliga? Why it's none other than FC Bayern's very own Franz Beckenbauer. Der Kaiser created the "libero" role redefining defense for generations to come. Beckenbauer won five Bundesliga titles (4 with Bayern, 1 with Hamburg), 4 DFB Pokals, 3 European Cups, the UEFA Cup Winner's Cup, Intercontinental Cup, and the Ballon d'Or twice.
