A Mario Götze goal and a 0-2 win over FC Köln at the Rheinenergie stadium? We'll take it. Xabi Alonso breaking the all time Bundesliga passing and touch records set by Thiago last year? We'll take it.
But apparently, what you won't take is our selection of Xabi Alonso as the man of the match, as the readership elected to go with Mario Götze as the Man of the Match for Matchday 6, choosing his goal and creative attacking flair over the red-bearded midfield metronome.

As it turns out, Xabi Alonso wasn't even in your top three selections grades as Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben both graded out higher then Xabi Alonso. It's not hard to figure out why though, as Arjen Robben has proven to be a dramatic catalyst with his incivise runs and direct play style. This is unlocked the space for Mario Götze behind the striker(s) with aplomb and it's not hard to think that the two of them together can form a brillaint team in the weeks and months to come.
The selection of Manuel Neuer was more of a surprise considering he spent likely 99% of Friday's match standing around playing patty cake with himself. However, his big double save midway through the first half must stand tall in the minds of the voters.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the continued hang wringing and general displeasure with Xherdan Shaqiri continues as voters knocked him down with an aggregate score of 2.5. He's going to need a massive performance like the one's he was churning out early last season to hope to earn more playing time. Especially now that Franck Ribery is another looming addition to the Bayern Munich lineup.
