We have a midweek round of Bundesliga games this week, and fourth place Bayern Munich will be hosting shock top of the table SC Paderborn. Yes, the two sides are tied on points and only separated by goal differential, but the fact that the newly promoted side is leading the table after four games is still shocking.
Pep Guardiola needs to figure out a way to get the club's offense going , and it may be as simple as "Get Arjen Robben and/or Franck Ribery off the injured list and onto the field.". This team has been missing a world class five man midfield through injury (Robben, Ribery, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thiago Alcantara, and Javi Martinez), but the players Bayern has available should be good enough to be getting the job done.
However, Paderborn is a solid team. Pep spoke the truth about them at the press conference in that they really have nothing to lose in this match. I expect them to come out flying and pressing with some serious intensity at the start. They've proven that they have the quality to capitalize on their chances.
With all of that said, this should be the last day that Paderborn are atop the Bundesliga table. Bayern should take all three points today. Davis predicted a 2-0 victory for FC Bayern in our preview which you should read before the match.
