Before the match, a contest of "Guess the player that's going to score the winner on a volley for Bayern in the 90th minute." probably wouldn't have resulted in a lot of guesses for the man that ended up scoring that goal.
Jerome Boateng scored a fantastic winner today for FC Bayern as they beat Manchester City 1-0 to take all three points in their Champions League opener. Unfortunately, Fox Soccer has made it to where their videos are unable to be embedded (They are apparently working on it.), so I can't just put the video in here. However, here's a link to it.
Boateng actually came close to score a minute before this. He collected a ball from the top of the area and force Hart into a diving save to keep the ball out of the net. Subsequently, Boateng scored on the second corner resulting from the save.
Here's a Vine of the goal:
Bravo, Mr. Boateng. You secured all three points for Bayern today, when it appeared that we were going to settle for only one point.
