Holger Badstuber injured again, removed from match against Stuttgart

Holger Badstuber was withdrawn shortly before halftime with an unknown injury in Bayern Munich's clash with VfB Stuttgart

Holger Badstuber has been withdrawn from Bayern Munich's match against VfB Stuttgart with an unknown injury. While he walked off the field under his own power with no assistance, the fact that Gianluca Gaudino was immediately prepped to replace him was an alarming sign.

Given that Holger Badstuber just returned after multiple ACL surgeries and was looking close to returning to being the player he once was for Bayern Munich, it's safe to say everyone is more then just a little worried. Especially given that Badstuber went down after attempting a fairly routine pass.

Immediate speculation centered around a groin issue rather then an ACL injury but we will have to wait until the club makes it official announcement to know the extent of the injury and it's impact on Bayern Munich's season. Given they've already lost Javi Martinez for the next 6 months and Mehdi Benatia has only been practicing with the club for the better part of a week the immediate impact for Bayern Munich might be very severe. Especially with a midweek clash against Manchester City on the docket.

UPDATE: Per the club's official Twitter, Holger Badstuber has suffered a thigh injury. His knee is completely fine.
