Robert Lewandowski opens his Bayern Munich scoring account in the Bundesliga

Robert Lewandowski and Sebastian Rode combined to give the forward his first Bundesliga goal with Bayern

Lars Baron

It took some spectacular saves from Max Grün last weekend to keep Robert Lewandowski off of the score sheet in Bayern Munich's match with Wolfsburg to open the Bundesliga season. However, there was no such luck for Schalke's Ralf Fährmann today.

FCB controlled the opening minutes of play and forced Fährmann into several saves to keep Bayern from scoring. There wasn't a lot that he could do on the goal though. Lewandowski played Rode through the Schalke backline, and the midfielder played it back to the Poland international for the sliding shot into the empty net. We know what he's capable of on the field, and he's going to score buckets of goals for FC Bayern.

We'll have a recap and analysis once the match is completed.
