Sport1 is reporting this morning that David Alaba is likely to join the lengthy list of Bayern Munich players that will not be apart of the DFB Pokal Final. Thiago Alcantara and Bastian Schweinsteiger fell to injuries in the build-up and are definitely out of the match, while Franck Ribery is reduced to a substitute appearance. Oh, yeah, Mario Mandzukic was also left in Munich due to attitude issues.
So, what does this mean for the players remaining with the squad in Berlin? Well, Bild is reporting that Bayern are likely to go with a five man backline that looks something like this (left back to right back).
Diego Contento - Dante - Javi Martinez - Jerome Boateng - Rafinha
Then, Philipp Lahm and Toni Kroos will be in front of them. In attack, Contento and Rafinha will move forward to support the attack. Who goes up top? It will be some combination of Arjen Robben, Thomas Müller, Mario Götze, and Claudio Pizarro. Might we see a 5-2-3 today?
