After being linked with Bayern Munich last Friday, and after Calhanoglu himself had expressing admiration that Bayern Munich were interested in him, Hakan Calhanoglu's agent has come out to BILD stating that Bayern Munich are not a preferred destination for the 20-year-old Turkish striker.
Hakan Calhanolgu is certainly one of the Bundesliga's best and brightest talents, having scored 11 goals and added 4 assists in a great personal season for truly atrocious Hamburger SV side. While Calhanoglu would certainly be an exciting depth prospect for Bayern Munich, he also primarily plays as a left attacking midfielder, a position of incredible depth for Bayern Munich. Even as a depth signing he'd be rotting on the bench, or more likely just off the bench. So, that his agent is basically against a move to Bayern Munich should not be surprising. Unless Calhanoglu can somehow work out pre-set loans into his contracts, there's probably very little chance he'll be joining Bayern Munich this summer.
Though with Bayer Leverkusen rumored to the front runner for his services, maybe we should just buy him to save him from himself.
