Holger Badstuber returns to full training

It's been a long time, but Holger is kind of back.

Lennart Preiss

We brought you the news nearly three weeks ago that Holger Badstuber was back training with a ball at his feet. Today, we have even better news in Holger's recovery.

According to Bild, Holger was back in full training this morning back in Munich. They even went as far as including pictures of him on the training field with Daniel van Buyten and Diego Contento. Rafinha was also out there with them. Obviously, the rest of the team was in Braunschweig.

It's fantastic news for Badstuber that he's back in training, but remember to temper your expectations. There is basically zero chance that Badstuber plays in any competitive match before next season. Our good friends over at FC Bayern Central remain in favor of a loan for the first half of next season. It makes a lot of sense, because it will allow Holger to get his feet back underneath him in a competitive environment before he's thrown back to the wolves in the Bundesliga and Champions League.

The FC Bayern Family should rejoice, because we are so much closer to seeing Badstuber back on the field for the first time in over 500 days.
