Bayern Munich II are back on course to qualify for the Regionalliga playoffs after a 2-1 victory over 1 FC Schweinfurt on Saturday at the Grünwalder Straße.

After jumping on the front foot almost immediately, FC Bayern II nearly took the lead after two minutes when Angelos Oikonomou smashed a shot off the crossbar. It wasn't much longer though until FCBII were in front. Kevin Friesenbichler scored his fifth goal in the last three games to give Bayern the 1-0 lead.

FCBII pushed for more goals in the second half and were clearly the better side. It seemed just a matter of time before the second goal was coming. Unfortunately, the second goal of the match came off the boot of Schweinfurt's Marco Janz. He let loose a shot from distance that rattled the back of the net to bring the match level at 1-1.

Ten Hag brought on Tobias Schweinsteiger hoping to press forward in hopes of finding the late winner. Of course, Schweinsteiger made sure to make his coach look like a genius for the sub. In the final minute, Benno Schmitz whipped the ball into the box, and Schweinsteiger headed it into the back of the net to give FCBII the 2-1 victory.

The win allows FC Bayern II to maintain their four point lead over second place FV Illertissen in the race for the promotion playoffs out of the Regionalliga. After the poor start to the Rückrunde, FCBII Have now put together three straight wins. With only six matches left in the season, including a visit to Illertissen, Ten Hag has his team on the path to promotion.
