A lot of us were worried when Manuel Neuer was pulled out of today's Borussia Dortmund match with a reported calf injury. It was all for a good reason, too. Now that Tom Starke's season is possibly over following elbow surgery, if something were to happen to Neuer, Bayern would have to rely on FC Bayern II goalkeeper Lukas Raeder.
While I don't want to be the guy that jumps up to assume that Raeder isn't potentially a world class goalkeeper, I know for a fact that Neuer is the world's best. Raeder played the entire second half against BVB today, and while I'd make the argument that his poor positioning contributed to Marco Reus' goal, he did make a couple of nice saves.
However, all of you can stop worrying about Neuer.
.@FCBayernEN's Neuer: "I went off as a precaution but I can play in the DFB Cup during the week. We didn't want to risk more injuries."
