When Thomas Müller was withdrawn in the 61st minute of yesterday's 4-0 shellacking of Hannover 96 it was a surprise considering the 24-year-old was sitting on a hat-trick after logging his 19th and 20th goals of the season. A day after that and Bayern Munich has revealed that Thomas Müller has suffered from a torn rear thigh muscle. Hopefully its not a hamstring due to their fickle reputation.
Müller has been slated for a 5-day rest period before resuming training which removes his appearance this Saturday against a newly resurgent Schalke 04. Considering the depth in this Bayern Munich squad and the approach they've taken recently in dealing with injuries expect Thomas Müller to also sit out the match against Wolfsburg on March the 8th and be fresh for the return leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Arsenal.
