One more day and one more award for Manuel Neuer. The Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper is collecting another feather in his cap on the way to the Ballon d'Or ceremony on January 12th. This time he's collecting the L'Equipe Sportsmen of the Year, edging out both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the award.
The media train is rolling and given the way the votes are shaking out, this may be the season where Ronaldo and Messi are unseated from their throne of boring. With just over two weeks to go before the big award, the more media awards Manuel Neuer can rack up, the more he may have an actual shot at it. That of course, is all predicated on the choices of both international captains and coaches are going to be the deciding factors in this selection who make up the bulk of the voting poll.
Rounding out the list of fellow Bayern Munich nominees who finished in the top 10 were Arjen Robben, Philipp Lahm and Thomas Müller who finished in 4th, 5th and 9th places respectively.
