Lewandowski delighted Borussia Dortmund fans for years before making the move to Bayern over the summer. In his last season with BVB, Lewandowski hit for 28 goals and is already up to 9 this season with FC Bayern. The Poland international is a prolific forward, deserving of being classified the world's elite.
Müller had 25 goals last season for Bayern, and he's already up to 9 in this campaign. Müller is never going to win all of the flashy awards, but there is no questioning that he is one of the best players in the entire world. He was also instrumental this summer in Germany winning the World Cup.
Even though he spent a lot of time on the physician's table, Ribery was still RIBERY when he was on the field. Ribery's runs through Bundesliga and European defenses alike are beautiful to watch. We know he was jobbed out of the Ballon d'Or last year. Sadly, he wasn't able to make it to the World Cup with France in the summer due to injury.
Robben had 20 goals for FC Bayern last season and was a reason why the club found their way to another domestic double. This summer at the World Cup, the biggest stage of them all, Robben was a star. He carried Louis Van Gaal's Dutch squad to a victory in the third place game over hosts Brazil in Brasilia. He once again showed the world that he's an elite player in this game which is something we Bayern fans have known all along.
Yes, Wayne Rooney was somehow shortlisted for this award.
