Mehdi Benatia was forced out of Bayern Munich's match with Freiburg with an injury during the first half. It appeared as if the Moroccan suffered an injury of some sort to his groin. However, until scans are done, we can't be too sure at this time. He did walk off the field on his own.
#FCBayern currently down to 10 players. @MedhiBenatia has tweaked something and can't continue. @JB17Official being prepared. #FCBSCF 0-0

Benatia wasn't having the best of games, having already picked up a yellow card with a rather silly professional foul a few minutes earlier. The injury forced Pep Guardiola to bring on Jerome Boateng which was not a move he probably wanted to make this early if at all. However, with Holger Badstuber and Javi Martinez still on the shelf, there aren't many options available to Guardiola for use.
Hopefully, the injury is nothing serious, and it's just a minor tweak. We'll relay more information once we have it.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Bayern announced after the match that Benatia will miss Friday's match against Mainz with a groin injury.
