The race for Europe's most sought after teenager could be coming to an end. Martin Ødegaard will be joining Bayern Munich on a long term contract, according to Sport1.

Bayern, like the rest of Europe's elite clubs, have laid out the red carpet for Ødegaard including a private training session with the club. (See photos here) It now appears that the plan laid out for Ødegaard's future laid out by Matthias Sammer and Pep Guardiola has swayed the young man's mind on where he wants to pursue his professional future.

The Sport1 report comes directly from Christian Ortlepp, their Chief Football Reporter and the Head of Communications of the Audi Star Talk of which several Bayern players participate.

Other reports suggest that Bayern will announce Ødegaard's transfer tomorrow on his 16th birthday. This is the day that he is officially allowed to transfer to another club outside of his home country.

Bayern Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge recently described Ødegaard as a "top talent" and confirmed that FC Bayern were heavily pursuing him. Pep Guardiola was asked if he was the best young player ever. His response: "He is a very good player. I don't know whether he is the best 15-year-old. Messi was also good at 15, Ronaldo too."

However, according to Norwegian paper VG, Ödegaard will be spending today with Arsenal in perhaps his last training session with foreign clubs. Perhaps there's one more wrinkle in all of this?

For now, while we wait for the official announcement from FC Bayern (It could come as early as tomorrow.), here's a highlight video of Ödegaard's 2014 seasons with Strømsgodset.
