Manuel Neuer is one of the best goalkeepers in the world but his passing skill is something to behold

Manuel Neuer pulled off an audacious pass in Bayern Munich's 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. You should really see it.

Manuel Neuer has a claim to being one of the best goalkeepers in the world. His read of the game, his ability to control his box, stop shots, and his ability as a sweeper keeper have all been on full display. His recent World Cup performance served to introduce the world to one of the most audacious and complete goalkeepers.

However, it's his ability with his feet that so define how valuable Manuel Neuer is to Bayern Munich. Take a look at this maneuver from today's 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt

A side volley pass, with advancing pressure, pulled off with poise and power. Most players in the world are incapable of making that pass. Manuel Neuer is a goalkeeper. Eintracht Frankfurt coach Thomas Schaaf was suitably impressed. We were all suitably impressed to say the least.

Examples like this are exactly why Pep Guardiola and Bayern Munich play the way they do. With one of the most technically proficient goalkeepers in the world behind them, Manuel Neuer in essence becomes another defender. The high line becomes an avenue to adding a 11th outfield player on the pitch - and that 11th player might be better with his feet then most midfielders in the world.
