It's late Novemeber approaching early December, so naturally it's awards season! And UEFA has their own awards situation, the UEFA Team of the Year. While it, in all it it's glory, is basically a carbon copy of the shortlist for the FIFA Best 11 shortlist, this presents a unique opportunity to vote and select your formation!

Nominees
Manuel Neuer
Jerome Boateng
David Alaba
Mehdi Benatia
Philipp Lahm
Arjen Robben
Xabi Alonso
Thomas Müller
Robert Lewandowski

While Bayern Munich were certain to be lock to nominations given their dominance in Europe over the last 4 years, the presence of only nine nominees in some ways feels like a let down. While Manuel Neuer is likely a lock for the goalkeeper award, the rest of the categories are wide open.

Jerome Boateng, David Alaba, Mehdi Benatia, and Philipp Lahm round out the defender nominations for Bayern Munich and there is a very good chance that two or three of them could take home the awards. Boateng and Alaba have claims to being the very best in their respective positions, while Philipp Lahm is certainly one of the best players in the world. However, his move to midfield could prove to be a detriment to his winning this award with the voters. Pray people haven't realized he's a midfielder now.

However it's in midfield where Bayern Munich seems to have some of the biggest perceived snubs. No Bastian Schweinsteiger? No Javi Martinez? No Franck Ribery? Oh wait, they were injured the most of the season and it's a team of the year award. Rounding out the actual selections for Bayern Munich are Xabi Alonso and Arjen Robben, both of which are worthy nominees in a very deep selection pool.

The list of the available Bayern Munich strikers included for the award is comprised of Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Müller. While both could easily claim an award for their performances, the presence of perennial award locks like Messi, Ronaldo, and Bale, it's likely they won't make a final appearance in the Team of Year..

However, despite those concerns this award is your's, the voters, to choose. So get ready to ballot stuff for Bayern Munich players.
