Thomas Müller withdrawn from Germany-Spain friendly with apparent injury

Thomas Müller was withdrawn in the 23rd minute during today's Spain-Germany friendly after a bad challenge from Sergio Ramos

Who likes Sergio Ramos and isn't a Madridista or a Spanish national team fan? No one? That's what I thought.

If you're a Bayern Munich fan, there's one more reason to dislike the Spanish international as a rash challenge flattened Thomas Müller early in the first half of Germany and Spain's friendly today. The challenge in question was a contested header and it appeared that Ramos brought his knees into Müller's back. While Müller was able to re-enter the game following examination by medical personnel, he was withdrawn just minutes after that in favor of Karim Bellarabi, unable to continue.

With the news of Philipp Lahm's injury earlier today, I'm not sure it's entirely possible for today to get much worse for Bayern Munich fans. At it's best the withdrawal could have been entirely precautionary (hope for this situation) but when was the last time you saw Thomas Müller unable to continue after a bad challenge?  I'm struggling with that one and it's not a particularly comforting thought. That sad though, the nature of challenge could make this as simple as a bruised muscle forcing him off the field. We'll have to wait for word from the DFB or from Bayern Munich before we know more.

Either way, I think burning today to the ground just in case is valid reaction.

UPDATE: Withdrawal was due to bruising only according to ARD. Expect Müller to be back scoring goals this week and riding horses next week
