Will a Bayern Munich player break the 30 goal mark this season?

Gerd Müller thinks it's possible for a FC Bayern player to hit 30 goals in the league this season.

It's been nearly 40 years since a player in the German Bundesliga score 30 goals in a season, but Bayern Munich and Germany legend Gerd Müller thinks it's possible that a FC Bayern player will hit that mark by the end of the current season.

Scoring 30 goals in the season is not an easy task. In fact, the last player in the Bundesliga to score that many in one season was Köln's Dieter Müller nearly 40 years ago in the 1966-67 season. The last FC Bayern player to hit the mark? It was Der Bomber, of course. Gerd scored 30 or more goals in five different seasons in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

However, Müller believes that a current player on Bayern can hit 30 goals this season. Talking to Sport Bild, Müller thinks that it's possible that Thomas Müller can score 30 Bundesliga goals this season. It's a big task, but Gerd believes that Thomas has the quality to finally eclipse that fabled mark.

It should be said that Müller isn't the only Bayern player that could legitimately target 30 goals this season. When looking at the goal scoring table after 11 matches, it's clear that a few guys will at least have the opportunity, barring they stay healthy.

Player Number of Goals
Thomas Müller 6
Mario Götze 6
Robert Lewandowski 5
Arjen Robben 4

With 23 matches left in the Bundesliga this season, the four players would have to average more than a goal a game to hit the 30 mark. Is it possible? Yes, anything is possible. Is it likely? Eh... Maybe not.
