Bayern Munich vs. Hannover 96: Community Ratings and Man of the Match

The community went with Arjen Robben as the Man of the Match. Nipping right behind him though was Robert Lewandowski. How close was the voting?

After a 4-0 win of the type Bayern Munich laid down on Saturday, it's hard to pick a single man of the match.

But the math's are here to bail us out, as the Bavarian Football Works community voted and selected Arjen Robben as their Man of the Match for Bundesliga Matchday 7. Poor Xabi and his almost-worked-60-yard-goal-attempt completely forgotten apparently.

It's not hard to understand why either as the Dutch attacking midfield was everywhere for Bayern Munich, a creative talisman, brace earning nuisance that earned him plaudits with the the writers as well.

Though of course, the man of the match designation could have been applied to Robert Lewandowski too, as the Polish striker finished just a mere four one-hundredths of a point behind Arjen Robben. I think it's fair to sat that both players deserve Man of the Match plaudits even though the math says it is Robben's. Booo math!

Rounding out the other top performers were Xabi Alonso and Manuel Neuer. I wish had something insightful to say here, but they're so outstanding every week that's there's really no reason they shouldn't get these scores. The true surprise of the game was Rafinha who had a pretty stellar day from the right wingback role and was easily one of Bayern Munich's better players. He graded out near above average at 3.86.

Xherdan Shaqiri was a surprise as he had one of his best games for Bayern Munich in recent memory and still only received an average grade just above 3. More myopia people, come on!

Overall, it was a performance that left Bayern Munich fans with a good feeling. Here's hoping it's a foundation game for the team to build on.
