Before they began training on Wednesday, Bayern Munich dropped a bombshell on supporters.
Devastating: @Thiago6 (23) has suffered a ligament tear in training. He needs an operation and is set for another lengthy absence.

My reaction when I first saw the news was loud cursing followed by "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!". The poor guy was injured for the majority of last year. Then, he gets healthy before the end of the season and looks set to rejoin Spain ahead of the World Cup before getting hurt again. Now, just when he was getting ready to make his return to FC Bayern (again), he is hurt again.
Thiago's official injury is a partial tear of his medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his right knee, and the club says that it happened during a challenge in training.
"What can I say? Of course, I am at the moment profoundly disappointed and desperate." Thiago continued, "Why always me? But I will not give up. I will fight again. I'm going to get close again. And I will celebrate my comeback at Bayern."
The initial injury suffered by Thiago last March was the same partial MCL tear. It's the same one he re-injured in May.
"We are all shocked and saddened by this re-injury. Thiago was after a long time so close to the comeback." Sporting Director Matthias Sammer said," but he knows that the whole FC Bayern is there for him. We will do everything to ensure that he is healthy again and can bring us a lot of titles."
He will undergo surgery again and will likely be out for a few months. We can hopefully expect Thiago's return to first team games at FC Bayern sometime shortly after the winter break.
Get well soon, Thiago.
