A panic set in Tuesday afternoon when Bastian Schweinsteiger picked up an injury against Freiburg. While the result wasn't what we wanted, an injury to Schweini would make the match result a disaster.
However, Bayern Munich dropped a bit of great news on their website today.
The injury sustained by Bastian Schweinsteiger in Tuesday evening's 1-1 draw with Freiburg is not serious, and the vice-captain should be fit to play in Friday's UEFA Super Cup clash with Chelsea.
Celebrate? CELEBRATE!
Bayern team doctor Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt stated that Bastian only suffered a sprain ankle and won't miss any significant time. He'll receive treatment and should be involved in the final training session before the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.
Can you see Schweinsteiger making the starting lineup for the match? He probably will (Should?) be used a substitute in the Super Cup if not one hundred percent healthy. Might we see the first start for Javi Martinez under Pep Guardiola?
