In what has been an exciting season to date, the FC Bayern reserve team has improved to 8-0-0 on the season, extending what is now a 16-match winning streak dating back to last April. On Saturday, they faced off against bottom of the table SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg in what has now turned into romp through a poor and porous defense as the reserves ran up the score for a 6-0 final.

Patrick Weihrauch started the fun in the 8' as a midfield giveaway from Aschaffenburg was met as Weihrauch and Schweinstegier combined down the right before Wiehrauch scored from an extreme angle, shooting the ball from the right of the goal box into the roof of goal through coverage and the keeper. Not content with the single goal, the reserves piled on in the 34' as a poor ground cross from right back Benno Schmitz skipped past 5 players before centerback Edwin Schwarz poked it into goal, and again before the break as Tobias Schweinsteiger received a nice easy chip from Mitchell Weiser on the far post where he headed it easily in to take the match to the half.

The second half saw Aschaffenburg put together a couple sitters in front of goal that they skied over the bar, but besides that the goals all went one way as Patrick Weihrauch and Tobias Schweinsteiger (pen.) added seconds to record braces and Julian Green added his 5th of the season to keep him level with Weihrauch as the clubs top scorers.

The FC Bayern reserves still sit 5 points up on second place Greuther Furth II with a game in hand, and a full 8 points ahead of third place Wurzburger Kickers. They run a +26 goal differential on the strength of having allowed only 3 goals all season.

Next up on the fixture schedule for the reserves is an away match to Eintracht Bamberg at the 976 seat Fuch Parks Stadion. The home side currently sit 5th in the table on 16 points, tied with the 3rd and 4th place sides, but with a poorer goal differential.
