Claudio Pizarro, Bayern Munich agree to one year contract extension

Claudio Pizarro will remain a Bayern Munich player for at least one more season after signing a one year contract extension.

Claudio Pizarro and Bayern Munich finally put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep the Peruvian in Munich for another season. Thee contract had been agreed to weeks ago, but it wasn't until Thursday morning that the contract was actually signed.

The deal means that the 34 year old striker will get at least one more season in Germany to extend his lead as the Bundesliga's all time foreign leading scorer.

"I'm 34 - I couldn't have asked for anything better to happen to me than signing another contract with Bayern Munich. I'm convinced that we'll enjoy another good year together."

Pizarro sure sounded happy if we go by his tweet from earlier today.

Last season, Pizarro scored 13 goals in 26 appearances, mostly as a substitute. I believe you won't find many around here that are against keeping Pizarro for another season after how well he played in 2012-13. Like Claudio said, let's go for some new cups next year.
