Stephan Uersfeld stuck up an article on Bayern Munich's ESPN FC page that Sebastian Rode could hop from Eintracht Frankfurt to FC Bayern Munich in the summer. Well, maybe not so fast.
Sebastien Rode already made a statement to the Eintracht Frankfurt website, stating his intentions to play out his contract with the club, but did mention that he does not want a contract extension:
I have a contract with Eintracht until 2014 and I feel very well in Frankfurt. I have informed those in charge that I want to fulfil my contract but as of now I don’t want to prolong it.
I have not signed for another club and want to dedicate all my efforts and concentration to the team and my performance. Everything else is pure speculation, that didn't come from me and that I don't want. My one goal at this time is success with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Frankfurt Chairman Heribert Bruchhagen confirmed those talks in a short Weld article today. "He disclosed to us that he has other plans in 2014."
Of course, speculation has gone on for a while, as Phil Pierson will attest to. Still, though, nothing seems imminent...yet...
