The two top of the table sides will go head to head for a spot in Wembley Stadium. The battle will start in Allianz Arena in a week and a half before recommencing in Camp Nou in two and a half weeks.

Well, the BFW crowd got what they wanted.

Just a few months after they hired the Spanish side's former manager, FC Bayern München received FC Barvelona in the UEFA Champions League semifinal round, with the first leg being in Allianz Arena on April 23. Borussia Dortmund will host Real Madrid in the first leg of the other semifinal on April 24.

In the Before The Draw post, 58 percent of people who voted in the poll thought Bayern should play Barcelona, which became the precursor to the draw between the top of the table sides.

The two teams have played head to head six times, with Bayern having the most success in the fixture (3 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss). The last time the two teams faced each other was in the 2008/09 Champions League Quarterfinals, where Barcelona scored four goals at Camp Nou in the first leg. Barcelona went on to win the Champions League against Manchester United.

In European Cup and Champions League history, Bayern have advanced out of the semifinals 9 of 14 times, while Barcelona have advanced four 6 of 13 times. Barcelona has not lost at Camp Nou in the Champions League this season collecting three wins and drawing twice. Bayern have only lost once (the 0-2 loss to Arsenal), but have won all of their other four matches at Allianz Arena.

Barcelona play Real Zaragoza and Levante before coming to Allianz Arena, while die Roten play 1. FC Nürnberg and Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga and VfL Wolfsburg in the DFB Pokal before hosting the Spaniards.
