Life's not fair. We have all known that since our mother's caught us with our hand in the cookie jar at the age of 3. Despite our wailing pleas for clemency and that it wasn't fair we only got one cookie after dinner, our Mother marched us straight to bed.
So it should come as no shock to anyone that Bayern Munich would draw Arsenal in the 2013/2014 UEFA Champions League.
The strongest side in Group A. The strongest side in group B. Two sides that met in this exact same round last season. Two sides that lead their respective leagues. A clash that features in all 10 German national team players, including three of the best of the entire last decade in Bastian Schweinsteiger, Phillip Lahm, and Lukas Podolski (assuming he get's healthy). Oh, and Dortmund gets to gallivant around Russia and lay waste to Anatoliy Tymoschuck?
Life's so not fair. I'm going to eat cookies.
The first leg will take place on Wednesday, February 19th at the Emirates Stadium while the return leg will feature on Tuesday, March 11th at the Allianz Arena.
Here are the other ties of the round and reactions to them:
Manchester City-Barcelona (Pellegrini is awesome, chalk it up for Manchester City)
Olympiacos-Manchester United (Snooze)
AC Milan-Atletico Madrid (I am genuinely excited for this one!)
Bayer Leverkusen-Paris Saint-Germain (ZLATAN!)
Galatasaray-Chelsea (Didier Drogba vs. Chelsea. This is life being hilariously unfair to Chelsea fans)
Schalke-Real Madrid (Poor, poor Schalke)
Zenit St. Petersburg-Borussia Dortmund (Go away, I don't want to see you)
