Bayern Munich now know who their opponent in the semifinals of the Club World Cup is going to be. Chinese Super League and AFC Champions League winners Guangzhou Evergrande beat CAF Champions League winner and Egyptian representative Al Ahly SC 2-0 on Saturday afternoon to book a spot against the reigning European Champions.

After a scoreless first half in which both sides came close to scoring on multiple chances, Guangzhou roared in front shortly after the restart when their Brazilian forward Elkeson knocked in a rebound off the post. The "Southern China Tigers" grabbed a second goal in the 67th minute when Dario Conca put them up 2-0. Al Ahly came close a couple of times in the remaining 20 minutes to scoring, even hitting the crossbar once, but were unable to find the back of the net.

Marcello Lippi's side will meet Bayern Munich on Tuesday December 17th at the Agadir Stadium.
