Bayern Munich to face MLS All-Stars in August 2014

It's official. Bayern Munich will face the MLS All-Stars on August 6th at JELD-WEN Field in Portland, OR.

No date for ticket sales was announced at the press conference but we will keep you updated on that as details become available. In addition to their participation in this exhibition, the Bayern spokesmen hinted that there will be a 2014 US summer tour from Bayern Munich, but gave no additional details.

While the news that Bayern Munich would be playing the MLS All-Stars was all but officially confirmed last week by Karl-Heinz Rumenigge, the press conference was a nice way to officially  announce things up on the MLS and included a lovely statement (in English!) from Bastian Schweinsteiger.

It's a veritable boon to US-based Bayern Munich fans who haven't had an opportunity to see the German giants state-side since 2004. See you in Portland on August 6th.
