The Bayern women won their 5th match of the season downing FF USV Jena 5-0 on Saturday at the Grünwald Stadion. Thomas Worle's side took more than 20 minutes before USWNT U-23 captain Amber Brooks put the Bayern women on the scoreboard in the 22'. Afterwards the floodgates opened for the Bayern women as Brooks' fellow countrymen Sarah Hagen added a second and third goal to Bayern's tally in the 29th and 45th minutes respectively. A 53' goal from Clara Schöne was extra icing on the cake before Sarah Hagen added the cherry on top with her 89' goal to complete her hat trick.
While FF USV Jena sank to 8th in the twelve team Frauen Bundesliga kept pace with FFC Frankfurt and FC Turbine Potsdam who both won(Frankfurt annihilated 12th place VfL Sindelfingen 12-0), their 16 points placing them a point behind the leaders in third place.
The Bayern women travel to north to face VfL Sindelfingen next week who have scored only a single goal all season (In an 8-1 loss to VfL Wolfsburg Frauen). Before their 12-0 defeat yesterday, they had conceded 30 goals in the previous six games combined. Expect another high scoreline next weekend for the Bayern women as they keep pace with the top of the table.
