Bayern Munich II continued their dominance in the Regionalliga with a 4-3 victory over Würzburger Kickers on Saturday. The win moves them eight points clear at the top of the table over FV Illertissen, and they still have a game in hand. Wow.

Erik ten Hag gave Rico Strieder the start today, and the midfielder rewarded his coach's confidence. Less than a minute into the match, Strieder's shot from the top of the box stung the back of the net. Alessandro Schöpf doubled the lead in the 23rd minute on an assist from Julian Green.

Green and Stefan Buck nearly added to Bayern's advantage, but they weren't able to beat Daniel Tsiflidis. Kevin Friesenbichler made it 3-0 just before halftime with a nice finish and another assist for Green.

Etienne Scholz made it 4-0 in the 67th minute when he finished a cross from Friesenbichler.

Then, well, everything nearly fell apart.

In the 70th minute, Green accidentally headed the ball into his own net following a Würzburger corner to make it 4-1. Then, Ricardo Borba scored in the 83rd minute and followed that up with a goal in stoppage time to make it 4-3. Bayern was able to hold out for the final few minutes of the match for the 4-3 victory.

FC Bayern Munich II will take the field on Wednesday when they face TSV 1860 München II.
