Bavarian Football Works Squad Ranking | October 7, 2013

Welcome to the first ever BFW squad ranking! This is a weekly column that is designed to determine the squad ranking of the players in the FC Bayern München organization, with BFW writers ranking the top 20 players in the squad.

The criteria is subjective for every ranker. Factors range from football intelligence, on-field fluidity, leadership, recent form, or just plain overall skill. Injured and reserve players can be included, determining how crucial their return/promotion is, and how it affects players that play different positions.

Hypothetically, the top 11 players would be in the starting XI if FC Bayern played in the Champions League Final tomorrow, with the next six being the rest of the team sheet. Of course, positional limitations would make it the real one different, but that means the bottom of the list are players we deem replacement level.

Being the ranking, BFW needed a reference point, but in the future, we'll add and for players who have moved up and down the pecking order. Also, we'll add more analysis on players moving up and down the ranking.
