October's international break sees 15 national team callups for Bayern Munich players

15 Bayern Munich players were called up for October's international fixtures, representing 9 nations around the globe. Despite the volume, there wasn't a single prank call.

Austria – Oct. 11 @  Sweden (2:45 PM EDT), Oct. 15 @ Faroe Islands (2:45 PM EDT)
David Alaba

Austria sees itself on the outside looking in currently sitting in third place in Group C, 3 points behind second place Sweden. The match against the Swede's next Friday is their do-or-die moment. Let's root on David Alaba as he goes up against whatever-species-you-actually-consider-Zlatan-to-be-because-hes-not-human-and-thats-cheating-Sweden-and-you-know-it.

Belgium – Oct.11 @ Croatia (12:00 PM EDT), Oct.15 vs. Wales (2:45 PM EDT)
Daniel van Buyten

Unless something shocking happens, Belgium will be going to the 2014 World Cup. A single win in either of their last 2 games will see them through, and lets face it, they face a Wales sans Gareth Bale.

Brazil – Oct. 12 @ South Korea* (7:00 AM EDT), Oct. 15 vs. Zambia* (7:45 AM EDT)
Dante

The Brazilian's play meaningless friendlies. Boring. Might as well go eat cake instead.

Croatia – Oct.11 vs. Beligum (12:00 PM EDT), Oct. 15 @ Scotland (2:45 PM EDT)
Mario Mandžukić

Unless something miraculous happens in the Wales-Belgium match and the Croatians can defeat Belgium, the Croatians are headed into the knockout round in November.

France – Oct. 11 vs. Australia* (3:00 PM EDT), Oct. 15 vs. Finland (3:00 PM EDT)
Franck Ribéry

Spain and France are even on points and separated only by goal differential for the automatic berth to World Cup 2014 and the knockout round in November. However, Spain has played one less game than France. Franck better bring his goal scoring boots and hope that someone takes one game from Spain.

Germany (7) – Oct. 11 vs. Ireland (2:45 PM EDT), Oct. 15 @ Sweden (2:45 PM EDT)
Jérôme Boateng
Toni Kroos
Philipp Lahm
Thomas Müller
Bastian Schweinsteiger
Mario Götze
Manuel Neuer

The Germans directly qualify for World Cup 2014 with a win in either of their remaining matches. Here's hoping some of the 7 Bayern callups for Germany  knock off Sweden for David Alaba.

Netherlands – Oct. 11 vs. Hungary (2:30 PM EDT), Oct. 11 @ Turkey (2:00 PM EDT)
Arjen Robben

The Netherlands are already going to the World Cup and Arjen Robben should take this time to take another class at right footed practice school.

Peru – Oct. 11 @ Aregntina (7:00 PM EDT), Oct. 15 vs. Bolivia (10:15 PM EDT)
Claudio Pizarro

Peru have already been eliminated for World Cup qualifying. Argentina have already qualified. Bolivia are already eliminated. More cake to be eaten here.

Switzerland – Oct. 11 @ Albania (2:30 PM EDT), Oct. 15 vs. Slovenia  (2:00 PM EDT)
Xherdan Shaqiri

A win in either of their matches see the Swiss go to World Cup 2014. Also, Xherdan Shaqiri is awesome.
