Bayern Takes Out Basel 3-0 in Friendly Match

FC Bayern continued their fine form with another friendly win, decisively beating FC Basel in Switzerland. Bayern's offense was on point, with the final score not even reflecting the full dominance on display.

Although this was a friendly, a strong line-up was present, and Bayern's players (especially the forwards) were clearly taking it seriously. Basel's chances were few, and mostly same on shots from distance or players trying to beat 2 or 3 defenders. Bayern's offense was incisive, as we moved well and player runs were flowing and unpredictable. Mandzukic got the scoring started. Kroos' free kick took a deflection and landed right at Mandzu's feet:

This ^ should also have the other goals: Bastian's rocket blast from distance and Ribery's winding run around the left side. MIGHT have been a handball by Mueller to start the play on that one ... but either way, this match was never in doubt, as Ribery has another chance denied. The match easily could have finished 5-0 or even worse.

The club is on the way back to Munich as we speak, and I think there's a friendly against local rivals SpVgg Unterhaching tomorrow afternoon. The line-up will probably be pretty sparse, with so many usual starters getting good minutes today. The second-half restart is only a week away, as Bayern will make a run at trophies in 3 competitions.
