The trash has been cleared away, and it's time for another Germany day. First, Denmark and Portugal battle in the early match. The Danes sit on top of the Group (even with Germany) after their surprising win over the Netherlands. Portugal, meanwhile, really needs a win from this one. A loss could even possibly leave them eliminated. So the Portuguese will have to break out of their defensive shell and take some chances.
In the late game, Die Nationalelf have a chance to stamp their tickets to the next round with a win. Nothing is guaranteed, though, with the national side having looked a little sluggish last time out (in fact, both of these teams - Deutschland und Die Nederlands - didn't look like good bets to win the tournament last time out). Both sides also have some real questions to answer over who starts and who doesn't. But, as Oatbag's post earlier this weekk showed, the Dutch are doing a lot more grumbling about it.I'm probably going to watch this at a Holland-affiliated bar down on L Street. If anyone wants to come over and back me up, send me an email.
D, DUA!
