Euro Viewing Thread: Match Day 4

Anyone else feel like Glen Johnson might be out of his depth today?
Anyone else feel like Glen Johnson might be out of his depth today?

The first round of matches reaches its conclusion today, as Group D kicks off in a little over an hour. Croatia seized control of Group C yesterday with a convincing win over Ireland, while Italy and Spain fought to a 1-1 draw that leaves both alive but eager for a win on Thursday.

Today, France battles England and Sweden takes on hosts Ukraine. The media always hypes up France vs. England ... personally, I think the French just have them outclassed this particular summer. Nothing against England or the English game (they do have some talent), I just think the injuries, coaching changes, and a few other factors will be leave them in trouble. But I've been wrong before.

So far, the tournament's big winners have been Croatia, Denmark, Russia, and the Bundesliga: Lewandowki, Gomez, Mandzukic, and new Wolfsburg signing Vaclav Pilar have all found the net.

Tonight, we'll check in with a full recap of the first 4 days, including looks at the group tables, an examination of our blogger bracket challenge, and maybe some video. For now, let's just enjoy 2 good games today, and hope Ribery keeps the run of excellence from Bundesliga players going.

As always, be polite and refrain from personal insults and ongoing vendettas. Thanks.
