FC Bayern 1 - 0 VfL Wolfsburg (with Video)

Gustavo saves the day with a late goal as Bayern picks up the three points. This was a match we easily could have lost or drawn, considering (1) Wolfsburg had a goal waved off for offsides that looked like it was good on the replay, and (2) Bayern's offense stalled again, and we did nothing for long stretches of the game.

The goal itself was a nice play by Ribery to control to ball, then kick it back to Goose. The shot was perfect - not super-hard, but sharp enough that the 'keeper could only get an arm on it. Here's the clip:

A nice win with a dramatic finish, but several troubling questions remain: can Muller be effective from either of those wing positions, or is he only good from the middle? Why does Heynckes have so little faith in Olic (didn't put him on the squad last week, brought him in only in the last 6 minutes today)?

Still an exciting game, though. And Wolfsburg is a solid team, so at the end of the day, beating them is enough - we don't need style points. Combined with a surprising Dortmund loss, FC Bayern is right back in the hunt. Only Mainz and Hannover are a perfect 2-for-2, with a handful of other teams trying to match them. More on this match later - I'm watching 'Gladbach and Stuttgart right now. They're on ESPN 3, for those who have access through your cable provider.
