Match Day Thread: FC Bayern vs. Mainz (UPDATED with Final and Video)

New, comments

For third place in the Liga! Total Cup. This one kicks off at 12:45 Eastern USA, time, which I believe is 6:45 PM CET. It is again being broadcast on ESPN 3, and again the game is limited to 60 minutes (two 30-minute halves).

I'll be in and out, so I don't know how many comments I can leave, but anyone who's watching is welcome to leave their impressions. It's a pre-season game, ultimately meaningless, but it would be nice to see Boateng, Usami and Rafinha get into the mix. It would also be nice to see some good communication and offensive structure after yesterday's loss. Speaking of which, Manuel Neuer took responsibility for HSV's first goal yesterday.

Kicking off in 15 minutes.  We'll be back post-game to discuss and hopefully post some video highlights. Viva viva FC Bayern!

After blowing a lead with some really poor late defending, Bayern manages to win on the PK shootout.  I know this is pre-season so we shouldn't panic ... but too many breakdowns over the last 2 days.  The back line (whoever it is) is not ready for the season.

A few good moments from the offense, though.  Anyway, here are videos of the first half goals.  I'll post the rest if I can find them later.  Thanks for reading.
