Training Video: Phase I Ends With Intersquad Match

Sunday marked the end for Phase I of team training. For one last video look back, here’s the training match that took place between the pros and the amateurs.

The players can be difficult to make out. Unfortunately for the cameraman, the action tends to drift to the opposite side of the pitch. Frequently seen on the near side (the pros’ left) are Diego Contento and his unmistakable marmot-do, as well as Nicola Sansone, who gets to be pro forward for this match as Olic is the only pro forward in training. A very close examination will reveal that all the pros are in fact on the field, although the newest pro, (David Alaba) plays with the amateurs here. Tymoshchuk is generally far from the camera but can be identified by his distinctive look, as well as the frequent shouts to him whenever he has the ball. You’ll also see Mario Erb deployed at right back for the amateurs and Saer Sene up top for the amateurs in many shots.

Segment I

An impostor tries to convince assistant coach Andries Jonker to sub him in, and the best chance comes near the end when David Alaba gets Jabulanied.

Segment II

The match winds down and the pros score, but it’s so far from the camera it’s hard to tell who scores it. Tymo on the assist for sure, and my best guess based on the size and position of the scorer is Pranjic.
