Monday was greeted with a breaking story from Sport 1 that FC Bayern and Franck Ribery had agreed in principle to a contract extension. I was a little skeptical that a story like this would break from Sport 1 alone but they are headquartered just outside Munich, so one has to take notice. Further credence was lent to the report when this story appeared a bit later on in the day. A lot of innuendo but not a lot of hard reporting–it seems like the journalists on the ground have gotten assurances but not much more to go with. We’ll have to see what comes out of France this evening as well, to get a good fix on the story, but right now, it looks like multiple sources have good reason to believe that Ribery has agreed to an extension.
