It’s not the first time Alex Ferguson’s tongue has come up with something suspicious. But these comments did crystallize the subtle (and sometimes not so) current of bias running through much of the English language coverage of this tie. It’s funny that he seemed to catch himself and wander back towards rationality a bit, indicating the importance of the Bayern goal before half. But he decided to go bye-bye once again after that. And while those in the Bayern camp (Van Gaal, Hoeness) aren’t known for their rhetorical gracefulness, they are at least equal opportunity offenders.
