Ze Roberto has been the bright spot in what has otherwise been a dismal season start for Bayern. While he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves, many moments have made him a true star this season in some very bleak moments. Unfortunately, his contract expires at the end of the season. It's a player like Roberto that is needed. And while many think he would be an asset to keep, myself included, it's not written in the stars for the team. Even though, Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was prepared to give him a new contract, he won't have it.
Having recently told Kicker that he wants a new challenge after 10 years in the Bundesliga, which were with Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, he is looking to leave Europe.
"From my view my time here is over. I want to play for two years somewhere else"
While he has received offers from a few Major League Soccer clubs, it looks as though Roberto may end up wearing the FC Dallas colors next season. Wherever he ends up, I wish him luck.
