Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has expressed both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery will likely be offered contract extensions at some point in the coming months. However, with the duos advanced age Die Roten are naturally remaining cautious about committing to them.
"I do not rule out that both will sign renewals."
"We all know how incredibly important they are, both on and off the pitch. But both will have to be patient for a bit. It is only normal to wait a bit longer with players who are older than 30." - Kicker (Translation via Goal.com)
Both players current deals are due to run out in June 2017. However, Rummenigge has made it clear that Der Rekordmeister are eager to hold on to the experienced attackers beyond that date provided everything comes up roses.
Since joining Bayern from Real Madrid in August 2009, Robben has won fourteen trophies, while his French counterpart came to Bayern from Marseille in June 2007, Ribery has won seventeen trophies.
