I have missed Bayern so much already, that decided to rewatch a full game from the DVR. And it is Bayern VS Lille!
Just want to remind you the line up- we started with our usual defenders (Alaba,Dante,Boa,Lahm) and our with Schweini +Martinez as CDM. Now, Kroos didn't start! It was Robbery and Mueller, with Pizza being the striker.
Right away I want to remind you that it was 5:0 before the 35th minute!!! Schweini opened the score with a brilliant free kick that made my mouth water, followed by a deflected Robben free kick, and 3 straight beautiful Pizza goals.
But before all these, even before the 7th minute, my beloved Mueller had already managed to miss two golden chances.
Now, keep in mind that I absolutely love Mueller and also Kroos, and don't really care much for Robben anymore, like most of the fans from the blog, I feel. But I want to be fair here, and give all the credit for the Dutch glass-man and criticize Tommy boy. If this was another game, where we faced a tougher opposition, those two chances might have been all we would have had. So it would have been unforgiving towards Mueller. And Robben, on the other hand, was great. He made beautiful passes, helped the defense, and was always threatening. So, Mueller was the first to be benched in the second half, no surprise, to Kroos. And Kroosie scored the sixth goal right after coming in. And he was class till the end of the game.
This game reminded me that when Robben is fit, he has a lot to offer, and it's not so easy to simply bench him ( even though Robben himself had a couple of good chances that he missed).
I just want to keep it short here, and remind to guys/girls like me that I guess we shouldn't rush and write Robben off as a starter. And once again, I love Tommy boy hell of a lot more than Robben, but he shouldn't always be a guaranteed starter, I guess.
And on the other hand, Kroos has yet to disappoint me this season. And there is no reason really not to start him every game behind the striker. He is just amazing.
And a final (kind of unrelated) point: to all those who think that Schweini is not good anymore, or that we can do without him, or that we can replace him with someone else and just be fine, you are out of your minds.
